The problem is to achieve a hydraulic piston cylinder device in which the pressure or tractive force of the cylinder is maintained even if the external pressure led into the cylinder would stop. To solve this problem, an elastic material is interposed between two piston parts, and is elastically compressible by the external pressure applied to the cylinder; and the valve members are coupled to each other so that when one of the valve members is closed the other cannot be closed.

The aim of the invention is to increase reliability with a sharp drop in pressure of the working medium in the supply line and with a sharp increase in load.
The drawing shows a hydraulic piston cylinder device.
The hydraulic piston-cylinder device comprises a housing 1, in which, with the formation of working cavities 2 and 3, a piston 4 is installed, consisting of rigid parts 5 and 6, between which there is an elastic accumulator gasket 7 connected to the rod 8. Cavities 2 and 3 of the line MI 9 and 10 through the valve element 11 are connected to the supply line 12 and the drain line 13. The valve element 11 includes a housing 14, in which are placed under
spring loaded ball valves 15 and
16 interacting with a movable stop 17, the latter being longer than the distance between the valves 15 and 16 in their closed state.
Hydraulic piston cylinder device operates as follows.
When supplying the working medium under pressure via supply line 12 (line 13 communicates with drain) under the action of pressure, valve 15 opens, jointly cavity 2 through line 9 with supply line 12. In this case, the movable support 17 moves to the right (according to the drawing Open valve 16 and together cavity 3 with a drain.


The piston 4 moves to the right (according to the drawing) until it stops at a meeting with a force loading object (not shown), while the gasket 7 is compressed, storing energy. When the supply line 12 is broken, the valve 15 is closed, preventing leakage of working medium from the cavity 2, and the force from the piston 4 with the rod 8 to the force loading object is maintained due to the action i of the accumulating gasket 7, which maintains the pressure in the cavity 2.
When supplying the working medium under pressure to line 13 and communicating line 12 with a drain, the device operates in the same way, but in the opposite direction.
